General surgical procedures

In addition to visceral surgery and proctology, we offer other surgical procedures that round out our range of services and can usually be performed on an outpatient basis. The following sections provide more detailed information on a number of key topics.

Port-a-Cath insert

Port-a-Cath systems are required when infusions need to be administered over a longer period of time, e.g., as part of nutritional therapy or chemotherapy. This protects the veins in the arms and ensures maximum comfort for the patient during the course of treatment.

Diseases of the pleura

Diseases of the pleura naturally cover a wide range. Findings are often made that lead to an increased amount of fluid in the space between the lung and the pleura. This in turn leads to compression of the affected lung.

Skin and subcutaneous tumors

It is not uncommon for growths to form on the skin, which can become inflamed and/or be aesthetically noticeable and interfere with changing clothes, for example.

Minimally invasive lung resection

Minor lung procedures can be performed using minimally invasive techniques, i.e., keyhole surgery. These include malformations that are prone to tearing and can lead to air entering the chest cavity. Individual tumor metastases can also be removed as gently as possible using this technique.
