Colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer is the third most common malignant tumor in our part of the world. With regular screening, it can not only be detected early and cured, but even prevented.

Diverticular disease of the colon

Diverticula are protrusions of the intestinal wall. They are mainly found in the lower left part of the intestine. Due to its S-shaped course, this part of the intestine is called the sigmoid colon. Treatment ranges from conservative/medication to surgery.

Gallstones

Gallstones are caused by deposits in the bile. These stones can grow quite large in the gallbladder and thus lead to problems.

Reflux disease

Reflux refers to the backflow of fluids. In this case, it is either gastric juice or bile. Both can cause severe damage to the tissue of the esophagus.

Chronic inflammatory bowel diseases

Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are the two representatives of this group of diseases. Patients are normally treated with medication by their gastroenterologist. However, complications often have to be treated by specialist surgeons.
